Originally, I come from a sporting background, having attended a sports college for all my pre-university education. I was also very interested in music and entertainment, where I engaged in entrepreneurial activities myself. Nonetheless, my developed interest in financial markets combined with my thirst for knowledge led me to enjoy the fruits of higher education. I became the first person in my family to complete university, graduating with a first class honours degree in Economics and Management Studies from The University of Sussex.
I dreamed of working in The City of London with a role in the investment business. Hence, Cass was my first choice of post-graduate institution following my discovery of its worldwide reputation for being one of the best business schools in the field. What is more, its location and cultural diversity allows ample networking opportunities and a chance to acclimatise to the working environment. Moreover, the content and practical focus of the Investment Management course seemed like the perfect platform to help turn my dreams into realities.
My aim for now is to learn as much as possible, to meet new interesting people, and to be highly proactive. I would like to start my career in a large financial institution such as an investment bank or investment management organisation, and excel into a position of leadership. As far as my longer term aspirations go, I would eventually like to gain enough knowledge, experience, and resources to offer opportunities to those who otherwise may not suffice. Thus far, my ideas range from investing in emerging markets, to advising small family businesses, to providing support for talented individuals from poorer communities.
I am inspired by those such as Sir Stelios who actively utilise their ability to make the world a better place. I would also like to thank Stelios for his kindness in helping others gain that pedigree of education which supplements a successful career. I believe education and confidence are two complementary human aspects paramount to the world’s improvement. Enhancing these for further generations involves an active input from previous generations in laying down the foundations. Our most influential education comes early in life: from our home and from our people. This thereby forms the bedrock of our leadership qualities, our academic potential, or our entrepreneurial vision.
I would like to ask Stelios what was his earliest memory of having entrepreneurial vision was? In turn, I would like Stelios to ask me the same question.
