My name is Constantinos Demosthenous and I come from Cyprus. I am at Cass Business School studying Insurance and Risk Management at a postgraduate level. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Nottingham, where I obtained my BSc. in Economics and Econometrics.

I always wanted to keep things under control and predict the unforeseeable. For this reason I have chosen to study Insurance and Risk Management. My interest in this area was also stimulated by a summer internship at KPMG in the Financial Risk Management Department, where I confirmed that effective Risk Management is developing into a crucial guiding principal for the success and growth of organisations. Armed with a postgraduate degree from such an exceptional school, I aspire to become successful professional and obtain a meaningful and challenging position in the society.

A favourable quote from Mahatma Gandhi  says “Be the change you want to see in the world”. Each individual can contribute in a different way in making the world a better place. In my turn, I will do my best, both in my personal life as well as in my future career, to ensure that the choices I make are for the interest of not only me, but also of all those around me. 

The Stelios scholarship is an important aid during our studies, not only in financial terms but also as recognition of students’ efforts and value. Meeting Sir Stelios inspired me in achieving my full potential. I would like to take this opportunity for thanking him and the foundation once again.
