I believe that the culture of every country defines its people. Thinking about the way I was raised and the experiences I gained through my life, I came to the conclusion that what I wanted to do, was help people through managing their risk exposure. Being raised in a family of business people, my interests for Accounting and Finance were clearly shown and through my degree I discovered my interest in risk management. Being educated by top professionals and learning in a fast paste environment like Cass business school and Durham University, is the ideal start. My work experience in Hellenic Bank (3rd largest bank in Cyprus), also gave me valuable experiences about banking, people and teamwork. Having in mind the purpose of risk management, I am very interested and motivated into learning more and become a professional risk manager
At some point in our lives, where everything is happening as we want, all our goals have been fulfilled and we have gained experiences from our journeys, the only thing left is giving back. Showing gratitude about what you have been offered and giving back to the society is my way of wanting to say a huge thank you to those who have helped me, especially to Sir Stelios and his foundation.
Constantine P. Cavafys, Ithaka: “Success is the journey, not the destination” As the great Greek poet noted, the experiences and obstacles we face through a journey towards achieving a goal are the most valuable and not the destination, as this is what makes us grow and become mature human beings.
I would ask Stelios what do you believe are the main characteristics of a successful entrepreneur? I would like to discuss with Sir Stelios his thoughts about Cyprus political and financial problems and possible solutions, especially after the explosion event in Mari.
