My name is Katerina and I am Greek.  I studied at the American College of Greece (Deree) from where I took my Bachelor in Business Administration with major in Computer information Systems.

During my studies I worked as an intern in the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce and the Institute of Industrial Exhibitions in Athens. After by Bachelor I decided to continue my studies by specialising in supply chain management and finance.

I chose Cass for my studies because of its excellent reputation in Greece. I wanted to study in a Business School that will be known in and recognisable in the professional sector. Furthermore, Cass was the only Business School offering a course that combines Supply Chain with Finance courses, which I consider to be a valuable asset for me when I graduate.

Ever since my undergraduate studies I have been eagerly accumulating academic knowledge on the subjects I chose to study. My aspiration for the future is to enter the professional environment and apply all the knowledge I have gained into practice. My belief is that theory and practice go together and complete one another. Therefore, I wish to work in a dynamic environment that will allow me to apply what I have learned and in the same develop my skills and knowledge even further.

At this point I feel that I cannot contribute to the extent that Sir Stelios does. Nevertheless, as a scholar, I can help make these scholarships known to people that really need them to make their dreams come true. There are many people who are very capable and can make a difference to the world if opportunities are given to them. 

I am very glad I was given the opportunity to study for a year abroad since I can now say with certainty that this is one of the most valuable experiences I have ever gained in academic as well as personal level.

I would like to ask Stelios what drove him into abandoning a promising and certain career in shipping for an uncertain and risky entrepreneurial venture in the airline industry?
