My name is Liliya and I am from Bulgaria and I am currently studying a MSc in Banking & International Finance at Cass.

Prior to Cass, I received a degree in Finance. I have also two years of experience in a large-bracket Bulgarian bank where I worked on the implementation of the largest merger in the Bulgarian bank history.

I decided to attend the Cass program because of their well-regarded business school, academic excellence and practical-oriented approach.

In today’s world of quickly-changing environment, driven by constant urge to improve and excel, one needs to always be intellectually curious and stubbornly determined.

If you want to move industries, create opportunities, and strive for a better life, one needs excellent education to open broad horizons.

I am confident that Cass and the Stelios scholarship has provided me the necessary skill set to affect the way things will develop in my home country and one day I will realize my dream to be the Finance Minister to make a change.  Studying abroad has always been a dream for me. Being a scholar made that dream come true – moreover, it gave me the chance to visit numerous events and meet many interesting people which has enhanced the intensity of my experience in Cass. It presented an additional, more social, facet of the student's life.

I am grateful I was given the opportunity to study at Cass thanks to the Stelios scholarship. I would like to pass on my knowledge by teaching in a local university in my home city and share the experience of this international education with the less fortunate who did not have the chance to study abroad.

I am very proud I followed my dream - after all, Walt Disney had said that “all our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” I have always played and will continue playing by that rule.
