My career started with an internship at the Bank of Greece. However, my main professional experience has been as an auditor and financial analyst. My work offered me useful insight on various industries but most of all, the opportunity to specialize on the financial services sector. Consequently, it allowed me to gain invaluable knowledge on a broad spectrum of banking activities and, also,  a deep  understanding of the issues currently affecting the financial services industry around the globe.

The passion for finance I have shown since my school years, as well as the thirst for international exposure drove me to pursue postgraduate studies in London. Eventually, the Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou Foundation Scholarship made it possible for me to join Cass.  As an experienced student, I highly appreciate the school’s career-oriented approach,  its global  reputation and interaction with the City but more importantly, its internationally thriving alumni network.

Armed with the unique academic and networking experience that Cass provides, I am confident that I will be able to continue my career in finance and become a successful professional. My ambition is to make a difference in whichever path I choose to follow. One thing is for sure: that I will continue to work hard and try to improve every day.

It is my strong belief that every person can start giving back to society today,  through volunteerism but also, financially  within the measure of one’s powers. As a matter of fact, I am currently a sponsor of a 10-year old Ugandan primary school student and a volunteer of HELLVA, a Greek NGO whose main purpose is to improve the educational standards of Jinja area, Uganda. In a part of the world that suffers from illiteracy, lack of hygiene and basic infrastructure, our long term goal is to establish a technical high school, where elementary school graduates will have the chance to become useful professionals.

I would like to ask Stelios which aspects of his personality helped him become a successful entrepreneur. I would like Stelios to ask me how we can all work together to help our home-country, Greece,  acquire a new vision and generate hope for the young generations.
