My name is Virginia and I was born in Athens, Greece.  I graduated from Cass in 2007 after completing a MSc in Shipping, Trade & Finance.

Fascinated by the history and tradition of Greek shipping I began my studies with a BSc in Shipping Business. During my studies, I utilized my leisure time to tutor younger students that found difficulties in the fields of Mathematics Economics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. I also gained experience in the Greek shipping market with an internship as an analyst with a shipping company in Piraeus, which owned and operated 4 bulk carriers. Graduating with a distinction and a thirst to further my knowledge in the field of Finance, I enrolled to the MSc in Shipping Trade and Finance at Cass Business School where I was awarded the ‘Stelios Haji-Ioannou’ scholarship for academic excellence. Cass Business School's leading position and global reputation in the specific course as well as the lecturers’ hands-on approach suited me perfectly and I was given the chance to dabble with many thrilling subjects in the financial sector.

My inclination to the subject of Finance compelled me to accept an offer to work as an Associate in charge of the European market acting as an intermediary between issuers and investors and as an advisor to ship owner/operators and investors with respect to the financing of acquisitions divestitures of assets and companies in the maritime space.

My aspirations are to arm myself with the appropriate academic, professional and cultural experiences in order to successfully pursue a career in Finance and hopefully achieve a position that will enable me to ‘give back’ to the community and make a difference for  people that need our help the most.
