Armed with an MSc in Shipping, Trade and Finance, Stelios graduated from the Cass School of business in 1989, shortly thereafter embarking on his career in shipping (with Stelmar) and, famously, transportation (easyJet). As such, he would like to support the next generation in both these fields.
Two of the ten, annual Stelios Scholarships are dedicated to students studying the MSc in Shipping, Trade and Finance; one of the Scholarships is intended for a student either in the MSc in Energy, Trade and Finance or the MSc in Logistics, Trade and Finance. One scholarship has been allotted for an MBA student.
The remaining six Scholarships are for students in a Finance-related, post-graduate degree program at Cass.
Cass Business School has been ranked among the top 4 in the UK and top 15 in Europe
A letter to Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou from the Dean of Cass Business School writes:
The Financial Times has today published its European Business Schools ranking 2011 and Cass has been ranked 4th in the UK and 15th in Europe.
This ranking is compiled by amalgamating the Financial Times' rankings for Full Time MBA, Executive MBA, Executive Education and MSc Management, and we are pleased to have maintained a very high UK and European ranking.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, our alumni, for your contribution to our continuing high rankings. I hope that those of you who will be called upon to participate in future rankings will continue to support the School as Cass ambassadors.
