In Greece, June 16 marked the second of several Road-Shows nationwide bringing together entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds to network and learn more about the Stelios Award for Young Entrepreneur of the Year in Greece - 2010. Hosted by the Chamber of Commerce in Thessaloniki, the Road Show focused on opportunities for young entrepreneurs in the IT sector - a fledgling sector in Greece but one with great potential.
"This is what my Award is really about," said Stelios. "Reaching out to those entrepreneurs who have the passion, drive and determination to take the lead in helping to get Greece's economy back on its feet. Our respect and support for these entrepreneurs is crucial: in their taking substantial risks to back an innovative idea, they will be creating the companies and jobs that will ultimately fuel this economy."
Young entrepreneurs from the presenting companies at the Thessaloniki Road-Show included: Despoina & Valentini Amarantidou from ARTION; Christoforos Nikolopoulos from ALTANET; Pavlos Skenteridis from BIOINSECTA; Dimitris Stratakis from WELLABY'S and Vassilis Tsoulis from STYLEGIFT. Attendees also heard Brian Karey from Simply Burgers - the 2008 winner of the Stelios Award for Young Entrepreneur of the Year in Greece - rally young entrepreneurs to take the big step and get behind their businesses - financially and psychologically - as he and his brother Aris had done several years ago.
