My name is Gurdeep and I am studying a BSc in Economics with Economic History at LSE.

I come from one of five children and have lived in London all of my life, though my parents are both from India. I have had a few amazing opportunities in life which confirmed my desire to study Economics, working as a team for the Target 2.0 Challenge for the Bank of England and later a member of the Youth Leadership Team, where I helped to distribute a million pound fund to youth charities across England. I've always been intrigued by the subjects applicability to life, but perhaps even more so by the way it can be used to change peoples lives, on both a national and global level.

I love this course because it allows me to learn in a  logical/mathematical way whilst my Economic History module is more creative. The reason I chose to combine my course with Economic History is because I love to look at how political and social factors tie in with the economy and to explore these links.

So many things! If I had to aspire to be one thing I would say I hope to be successful, which I would probably define as achieving all of my goals. So I hope to become a entrepreneur, I want to set up my own charity, I want to go into the field of research, I want to travel and learn about the world and experience different cultures and I want to place myself in a position to help others.

i have always felt, whether through volunteering in lower year lessons or running larger scale fundraising events that giving back to people is so important and I hope that this is something that always remains close to my heart. I hope in the future to take my charity projects a step further, and hopefully I can help make a bigger difference to more peoples lives. I hope to set up my own charity one day but to continue working in a personal one-on-

one manner with people.

I think what Stelios and others like him are doing is absolutely phenomenal, the impact of their help, I'm sure, will stretch far beyond their imaginations, and I really hope to be in such a position to help others in the future.

If I could ask Stelios one question it would be: Did you have any major setbacks in the early days of your career, and how did you find the courage to overcome them and keep working toward your goals?

If Stelios could ask me one question I guess I would like him to ask me what impact the scholarship has had on my life because i don't think anybody could contemplate how much of a difference it has made.
