My name is Mamun and my parents are originally from Bangladesh. I am studying for a BSc in Economics at LSE.

My motivation to study Economics originated when I started the A-level. I was intrigued to see how economics could explain everyday decisions that we as consumers make. I became even more interested in the subject when the financial turmoil began to unfold and it was interesting to see the string of policies that the government implemented to obtain a swift recovery.

I am not fully sure as to what I would like to do in the future but I am considering entering the world of investment banking and later working in the government or Bank of England to help with economics decisions.

I believe that every child has the right to have an education of the highest standard. However, coming from an underachieving state school, I know this is not the case. I would personally like to help bridge the widening gap in the level of education some state school children receive.

"Unless you're willing to have a go, fail miserably, and have another go, success won't happen." Phillip Adams

I would ask Stelios, “What made him go down the path of the airline industry and whether he had any obstacles along the way?” I would like Stelios to ask how I could make a difference in helping under-achieving schools.
