Alumni jet in from around the world for weekend fundraiser
17 September 2012
Dozens of alumni from across the world flew into Monaco for a reception hosted by easyJet founder, Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou.
The near 130 guests,coming together for the second year running, met there as part of a three day alumni event to raise funds and network with old friends. The gathering brought together former Cass students from around Europe and as far away as the US, India and Australia.
Sir Stelios, who studied for an MSc in Shipping, Trade and Finance at Cass, hosted the evening reception on the terrace of his Stelios Philanthropic Foundation, which supports education, entrepreneurship and the environment as part of his efforts to encourage those who have benefitted from a world-class education to "give something back."

Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, founder of easyJet and serial entrepreneur, today presented the Stelios Award for Entrepreneur of the Year on the Riviera during a live interview at the studios of 106.5 Riviera Radio in Monaco, marking the launch of the station's "Ultimate Business Boost – 2012".
The "Ultimate Business Boost" celebrates entrepreneurship on the Riviera by awarding the value of 20,000EU in radio and internet marketing to the winning entrepreneur. This year, Stelios sweetens the prize further by giving 10,000EU in cash to the winner – resulting in a 30,000EU business boost.
